Songs don’t just happen all of a sudden!

There is a moment that one experiences - be it joy, pain, wonderment, so on… something that triggers the creative part of our brain to let out a tune or words or both together. Once it takes place, a song is born. Then it’s up to the songwriter to shape it and bring into a fully matured song for the world to listen to, share and connect with…

One of my first songs I wrote was formed from grief. A 13 year old, rehashing a conversation with her adopted grandmother and the last words she spoke to me before she passed away.

“I’ll be seeing you around the corner not far from here”, said in her Scottish accent.

It was the first sentence I thought of to start “I’ll Be Seeing You Someday”.

Every line I penned, I cried. Stopped, continue writing. Stop again. Cried some more until it was finished.

I still cry for my Dad, my grandma and loved ones…

I’d like to dedicate this song to those whose hearts are aching through loss.

Hope this little song brings some healing as it has done for me.
